About Me

Hello there! My name is Manaar Salama (she/her/hers). I currently work at RECmint as Data Operations Analyst. I graduated from University of California, Berkeley in May 2024 with a B.A. in Data Science and minor in Chinese.

Going into college, I wanted to find a career in which the work I did could benefit the world around me. I enjoyed statistics and was drawn to CS, despite having never coded before. After taking my first data science courses at Cal, I was interested in the combination of working with data and writing code that data science offered. I was especially impressed with just how useful data science could be in many different industries.

My specialization for my major is in economics, and much of the experience I have had through my current position, previous internships and personal projects has been working with data about customers and products, content performance, and transaction information. I thoroughly enjoy being able to find trends and patterns in things I come across daily.

Aside from my interest in data science, I also studied Chinese at Cal and find joy in learning new languages. I also aim to continue self-learning more computer science and software engineering fundamentals in order to expand my skill set. In my free time, I read, shoot hoops, and create video content on YouTube for fun.
